About · est. 2019

An operations training cell. Bristol · 2019.

Built in 2019 above a print shop on Berkeley Square, DS Gambet was founded by three former executive coaches who got tired of the conference circuit and wanted to teach the leadership disciplines directly.

Why we exist

Why we exist.

The professional development industry sells speed. Five-day intensives. Three-week sprints. Monthly retreats. We have nothing against speed, but the disciplines we teach — leadership mindset, executive presence, senior judgement — are not speed-trainable.

So we built a different kind of studio. Cohorts of twelve. Programmes that run six to nine months. Daily exchanges with paired faculty. Filmed studio sessions. No retreats. No frameworks. No bullshit.

If you are looking for a webinar, we are not the right studio. If you are looking for a place that will teach you the way trade schools teach — by drilling, by repetition, by exacting attention to detail — read on.

Doctrine

Four operating principles.

01

Plant first, then paper

Every bespoke programme starts with two weeks of us listening at your office. No module is written before that.

02

Cohorts of twelve

Twelve is the largest cohort a single instructor can hold to a real standard. Anything above twelve is a conference.

03

Drilling over discussion

The seminar room is a small fraction. The rest is rehearsal, replay, and the slow recovery of register.

04

Half-refund guarantee

If you finish without being measurably different — defined by your own pre-stated criteria — we refund the second half.

Place

Berkeley Square, Clifton.

Two rooms above a print shop on the south side of the square, ten minutes from the Suspension Bridge and the University.
